A sexy woman (Los Angeles drag queen Karen Dior, former Miss Gay United States) struts into an empty, greasy diner.

She sits down at the counter next to a nerdy old man, who looks over at her happily. The bearded cook (Philadelphia Philly's baseball first baseman John Kruk) asks, "So what can I get you?"

The woman answers in a deep, macho voice, "Steak and eggs, rare."

The old man then turns to the camera and says with a smile, "Hmmm, fooled by the old hidden ball trick." (The "hidden ball trick" is a baseball term, in which the first baseman goes to the mound to talk to the pitcher, who sneaks the ball to him and when the opposing player sneaks off of the base before a pitch, he is easily tagged out with the ball by the first baseman.)

This is hardly a new spin on the "eek-a-man" genre, except for the 'clever' phrase which recalls the audience to contemplating the woman's genitals. If this is a trans-themed ad, it refers to one of the most damaging of presumptions about trans people - that if trans women have a low voice, it's because they have 'balls' and thus will never be accepted as women, whether they are transsexual or not, whether they live full-time or not. They are deceivers. Negative.

Andrea James , Los Angeles, CA
Luckily, the old guy actor is able to pull off one of the worst puns ever and make this pretty funny.

Matt Efsic , Ventura, CA
Geoffrey Karen Dior was a good friend of mine. He also appeared in drag for Braun, Bud Light and MAC makeup ads as well as guest starred on Xena and Veronica's Closet. He loved this ad and whenever I see it I think of him and laugh.
